We usually have GPs in training working under supervision at the surgery. They are qualified doctors who are now training to become GPs. They spend six months or one year at the surgery at a time, depending on what stage of training they are at. Our current GP trainees are:
We also have an FY2 doctor working under supervision - FY2 stands for foundation year 2. FY2s are qualified doctors who have completed their first year of clinical practice. They each spend four months at the surgery. Our current FY2 is

To arrange antenatal care either contact reception at Muirhouse Medical Group to arrange an appointment with your usual doctor or telephone 0131 536 2009 to arrange a midwife appointment.
Once you have been referred to a midwife you can contact them on 0131 537 4251.
District nurses are specially trained to care for people over 16 years of age in their own homes and can be contacted Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30 on 0131 200 4154. At other times contact NHS24.
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five with information and advice to support mental, physical and social well-being.
The team can be contacted Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00 on 0131 537 4235.
We have two counsellors at the practice working on Thursdays and Fridays. We also offer placements for trainee counsellors, who work under supervision.
Referrals to the counselling service are done through your GP.
